This car was the second V8 special built by Colin Clifford, the first was powered by an 8/90 engine. I think he built it late 1960's early 70's. He raced it in VSCC events for a few years and the 3 studs above the Riley badge on the radiator shell used to read C C S (Colin Clifford Special). Now it is owned by Will Tomkins who has probably owned it for around 30 years ( I sold him a spare block over 20 years ago which I had got from Faud Majzub who in turn had got it from Colin Clifford!)

Thank you very much Nigel for your information. I will try to contact Will Tomkins. Perhaps you can also contact him if you know him well, because I want to have his Riley Autovia at my website and I don't have any details of this very interesting car.

hi My Dad was the builder of the C.C.S Riley Autovia V8 Special but before this he built a V8 special using an 8/90 engine , this still exists and is used occasionally by Mr Mcpherson its owner. I have a few pics of both the V8 specials & 2 or 3 of the H.A.R Special which my dad also owned in the early 70's if you would like me to forward them to you so you can use them on your website.
